Home

It's been almost two weeks now since I left India...

I still cant get used to it.. Sometimes I think I have, and I was too busy here to actually think...

I love my country, don't get me wrong.. But some things which I experienced in India, I will miss forever.

I thought I felt free in India, because I was living away from my family. But as time goes by, I realise that what not the case.

When I fought with my brother (welcome back home Vio!) and ran to my room and had lunch in my room, I automatically continued to eat my food by hand. I didn't realise at once, but when I did I smiled.

I still can't get used to the tiny space I have on this island. Yet again, I still hate seeing empty roads, without all those people.

I finally got used to the mentality again, but I will never accept it. I will not accept the racism and ignorance which my people still suffer from... as a result of living on an island... of being cut out from the rest of the world...

I also realised some things are the same all around the world. When they shot my uncle this week I thought, 'But I thought these things happen only in India'.

Apparently not. Evil and good live together, and it is up to us to restore the balance.

One question which I still have unanswered is; Are humans essentially good or bad?

I always thought we are all essentially good, and we become bad through the reaction to experiences we face. India proved my point. I came back home, and met a random guy. We started this conversation and he didn't agree. He lent me one of Paulo Coelho's books to read... And then my uncle was shot...

I still think humans are essentially good.

I have seen the look in the eyes of those children who had every reason to hate, every reason to be depressed, and nothing left in their lives.

I have seen a thirteen-year old boy hang himself, because he was not happy with his own family...

I have seen a dead man, with two gun wounds. He once had my own blood running through his veins.

And yet.

I will not let Evil win me over. No matter what happens. Humans are essentially good. And they only change, when they believe otherwise
